Gauri, Suhana, Tharoor Shower Love On SRK

MUMBAI- Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan, and politician Shashi Tharoor are among those celebrating Shah Rukh Khan’s maiden National Award win for “Best Actor” for his performance in the film “Jawan.”

SRK’s win was announced at the 71st National Film Awards, where his wife, Gauri, also celebrated the victories of Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar. Mukerji won “Best Actress” for “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway,” while Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” was honored with the “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment” title.

Gauri took to Instagram to share her pride, posting photos with Shah Rukh and Rani, as well as another with Johar and Rani. “Three of my absolute favourites just WON big,” she wrote. “When talent meets goodness, magic happens – So proud, and so ready to brag about them forever!”

Shah Rukh’s daughter, Suhana Khan, also posted a tribute to her father on Instagram. Sharing a throwback black-and-white photo of herself as a child in his arms, she wrote, “From bedtime stories to stories that leave a mark, No one tells them like you. Congratulations, love you the most @iamsrk.”

Meanwhile, politician Shashi Tharoor joined the chorus of congratulations calling the actor a “National Treasure” who had won a “National Award.” Shah Rukh responded in a humorous and self-deprecating manner, thanking Tharoor for his “simple praise.” He added, “would not have understood something more magniloquent and sesquipedalian… ha ha.”

Overwhelmed with the honor, Shah Rukh shared a video message with his fans. He expressed his gratitude to the jury, the INB ministry, and his directors, specifically mentioning Atlee for his work in “Jawan.” He called the award a reminder that his work “matters,” and a source of motivation to “keep going, keep working hard, keep creating, and keep serving cinema.” He also promised to use the recognition “not as a finish line but as fuel to continue striving, learning and giving life.”

Shah Rukh is currently recuperating from an arm injury sustained while shooting for his upcoming film, “King,” which also stars his daughter, Suhana Khan. (With IANS inputs)
