ORANGE, CA – The Orange County chapter of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) launched its first major initiative of 2026 on March 22 at Tandoor Restaurant, here. The event focused on “Life Management” strategies, drawing community members and leaders from across Southern California to discuss financial growth, estate planning, and organizational expansion.

Amrit Bhandari, the founder and chairman of the OC chapter, opened the session by detailing the group’s history and its evolving mission for the new year. Chapter President Hark Vasa introduced the keynote speakers and outlined an ambitious 2026 calendar. Notably, the gathering saw the attendance of presidents from all four Southern California GOPIO chapters. Vasa announced plans for the four chapters to unite for a large-scale joint event later this year, urging attendees to join local chapters to strengthen the Indian diaspora’s community service efforts.

The technical portion of the program featured a dynamic, dialogue-style presentation by Mahesh Jain. A registered investment advisor and founder of Kuber Investments, he provided strategies for maximizing investment returns. This was complemented by Anju Multani, an attorney with over 30 years of experience and founder of the South Asian Bar Association, who addressed wealth preservation. Multani offered a comprehensive overview of estate planning, including the complexities of wills, probate, and various trust structures.

J. Nami Kaur, Global Ambassador and Chair of the GOPIO Foundation, provided updates on international initiatives launched since 2025. She highlighted the organization’s digital transformation, including a website reboot, monthly webinars, and the ongoing dialogue regarding a Diaspora Museum.

The afternoon concluded with a cultural showcase featuring music and dance by local talent. Geeta Bhatt, Vice President of GOPIO OC, delivered the closing vote of thanks before guests transitioned to a networking lunch.
