In Hawaii Visit, Indian Naval Chief Reviewed Maritime, Defense Ties
WASHINGTON, D.C.-Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi visited the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Daniel Inouye. During the visit, he was briefed on the destroyer’s modifications, multi-mission versatility, and advanced maritime surveillance systems.
Tripathi also toured Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam and received a briefing on the operational capabilities and ongoing initiatives of the US Pacific Fleet and its resident units.
According to a statement from the Indian Navy on November 16, Tripathi’s visit underscores the significance of reinforcing interoperability and enhancing operational synergy between the maritime forces of India and the US.
Prior to this, on November 15, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi engaged in a series of high-level discussions with senior US military officials, aiming to further enhance maritime cooperation between the two nations.
His meetings included interactions with Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command; Admiral Stephen T. Koehler, Commander of US Pacific Fleet; and Lieutenant General James F. Glynn, Commander of US Marine Forces Pacific.
Both sides reviewed key aspects of India-US defense cooperation, concentrating on strengthening maritime security and cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and expanding avenues for operational engagements across the Indo-Pacific. (IANS)
