Jainardhan Sathyan Launches Sci-Fi Project

LOS ANGELES, CA – Producer Jainardhan Sathyan is leading a new science fiction project titled Waystation, a proof-of-concept episode that blends cinematic storytelling with virtual production. The project focuses on a woman’s stop at a teleportation hub en route to Mars, which turns into a confrontation with a fugitive—exploring themes of resilience and moral conflict.

Sathyan, who serves as Executive Producer, said, “Waystation brings together character-driven storytelling, scalable sci-fi, and the best in virtual production tools.”

The project utilizes IntelliTrack, a patented camera tracking system created for LED volume filmmaking, developed by ICVFX veteran Venkatakrishnan Alwar (credits include Iron Man 3, Maleficent, Harry Potter).

The international team includes screenwriter Darren Dalton (Red Dawn, The Outsiders) and director Rudolf Buitendach (Selling Isobel, Where the Road Runs Out). Producer Gopi Ethamukala of Triangle Tales Pte Ltd brings experience from two decades of episodic production in Singapore.

Sathyan previously produced six series for Pocket FM, including Saving Nora and Rekindled Heartache, which reached wide digital audiences in audio and video formats. He also served as VFX Producer on Vendetta (starring Bruce Willis) and earned a Silver Telly Award and American Marketing Association Award in 2024.

Waystation is positioned as the foundation for an Asia-Pacific-led sci-fi franchise. Sathyan is the founder of Hostage Film LLC and a member of the Visual Effects Society.
