Jasmine Sandlas Halts Performance: I Won’t Sing Until Women Feel Safe

NEW DELHI – Singer Jasmine Sandlas paused her recent performance here after witnessing harassment of women within the crowd.

Known for hit tracks like ‘Shararat’ and ‘Raat Jashan Di’, the artist stopped the show to firmly address the situation, making it clear that she would not continue until every woman in the audience felt safe.

Visibly disturbed by the behavior, Sandlas directly called out the men involved and instructed security to remove them from the venue immediately. She emphasized that a respectful environment was non-negotiable, stating that she would not perform if women were being troubled.

This stand for safety comes during a prolific period for the singer. Since her debut in 2008 and her breakout Bollywood success with ‘Yaar Naa Miley’ in 2014, Sandlas has remained a dominant voice in the industry.

Over her career, she has been recognized with multiple awards and has been featured on high-profile platforms like MTV Coke Studio and TEDx Talks. (IANS)
