WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), Washington DC Chapter, in collaboration with the Embassy of India, hosted a special celebration of Vishwa Navkar Mantra Divas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak at the Embassy of India. The evening was marked by a spirit of prayer, culture, and reflection, paying tribute to the core values of the Jain tradition.

The event began with a warm reception and community dinner, fostering connection and unity among attendees as they came together to honor the teachings of Jainism and commemorate the birth of Lord Mahavir. This was followed by a formal program, which opened with a devotional dance performance on the Navkar Mantra, setting a spiritual and uplifting tone for the evening.

In a special closed-door meeting, community leaders engaged with Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra, discussing the contributions of the Jain community and exploring avenues for continued collaboration and cultural engagement. The conversation highlighted the community’s dedication to service, ethical leadership, and global harmony.

The JITO Washington DC leadership team — Dr. Sushil Jain, Bhupesh Mehta, Rahul Jain, Minal Shah, Renuka Jain, Sharad Doshi, and Dr. Gita Shah — took the opportunity to recognize Ambassador Kwatra, along with Jag Mohan and Jigar Raval, for their steadfast support in strengthening community relations and promoting Indian culture and values in the region.

Reflecting on the evening, Bhupesh Mehta, Chairman of JITO USA Washington DC, shared:
“The Jain values of non-violence, truth, and compassion are universal and guide us toward a better and more peaceful world. Through JITO, we aim to bring these principles into global initiatives and make a meaningful impact.”

Dr. Sushil Jain, Chairman of JITO USA, added: “JITO has always been a platform that connects values with action. We are focused on nurturing leadership, encouraging ethical entrepreneurship, and supporting business development. Our goal is to promote sustainable growth while ensuring that our business practices reflect the core Jain values of non-violence, truth, and compassion.

The celebration paid heartfelt tribute to Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, honoring Lord Mahavir’s timeless message of spiritual awakening, non-violence, and compassion for all living beings. His teachings echoed throughout the evening’s reflections, reminding attendees of the power of inner transformation and ethical living.

The evening concluded with a collective recitation of the Navkar Mantra.
