Kashmiri Artists Faheem & Arslan Bring The Unique Sounds Of ‘Saiyaara’
MUMBAI (ANI)- Kashmiri musicians Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami recently discussed their experience creating the song “Saiyaara” for the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Their collaboration brought a unique sound to the track, blending traditional Kashmiri folk with contemporary elements.
Abdullah shared that the opportunity came from music composer Vishal Mishra, who wanted a song with a Sufi feel. “Vishal Mishra reached out, expressing his desire to create a song with a soulful Sufi feel,” Abdullah explained. He then brought in Arslan Nizami, a close friend and fellow artist, knowing Nizami’s unique musical perspective would enhance the track.
Nizami admitted that the first version of the song wasn’t quite right. “Our initial attempt wasn’t quite hitting the mark,” he said. However, their persistence led them to refine the composition until it truly resonated. “We kept working at it, knowing we had to create something special,” Nizami added, highlighting their satisfaction with the final blend of Kashmiri folk and contemporary elements.
“Saiyaara” has been praised for its unique sound, successfully merging Kashmiri musical heritage with mainstream Hindi cinema.
