LOS ANGELES, CA – The Consulate General of India, Los Angeles celebrated Hindi Diwas on October 5 at the Consulate premises with the participation of students, Hindi teachers and members of the Indian American community.

The celebration honored the Hindi language that connects generations, communities and cultures, bringing together young learners and educators who are contributing to the promotion and continued learning of Hindi in the United States.

Consul General Dr. K. J. Srinivasa addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of encouraging younger generations of the Indian diaspora to remain connected with Hindi and India’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.

The program featured a series of student presentations and reflections on Hindi, during which participating students shared their thoughts, experiences, perspectives, and poems on the importance of the language. The presentations provided young learners an opportunity to demonstrate their Hindi speaking skills and express their connection with the language.

The Consulate also recognized the contribution of Hindi teachers in the United States who have dedicated their time and efforts to teaching and promoting the language among younger generations. Srinivasa felicitated the teachers with shawls and certificates in appreciation of their contribution to keeping Hindi vibrant within the Indian American community, as were several participating students.
