Losing Not An Option: Vivek Ramaswamy Pledges $30 Million Of His Own Cash

COLUMBUS, OH- Vivek Ramaswamy, the multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur and former 2024 GOP presidential candidate, has committed to investing at least $30 million of his personal wealth into his 2026 campaign for Ohio governor. This pledge matches or exceeds the amount he spent on his presidential bid.

“Losing this race is not an option. Winning is the only option, and we’re going to win it,” Ramaswamy, 39, stated in a Fox News Digital interview on July 3. He emphasized to Fox News Digital that success would “require resources of every form.”

His announcement follows a robust fundraising period, with his campaign raising nearly $10 million in just over four months since he declared his candidacy in late February 2025. This figure, touted by his campaign as a “record for the largest first-quarter fundraising total in state history,” signals “unprecedented support in our state,” according to Ramaswamy, speaking to Fox News Digital.

Ramaswamy, who has received an endorsement from President Donald Trump, is currently the only major Republican candidate in the race to succeed term-limited GOP Governor Mike DeWine. State Attorney General Dave Yost, who had launched a gubernatorial campaign, withdrew from the race in May. While Ohio Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel had been considering a run, speculation surrounding his candidacy has since faded.

“I’m running unopposed in a Republican primary in a state that is certainly leaning reliably red,” Ramaswamy noted to Fox, adding that his campaign is “beginning to draw support from a wide range of nontraditional Republican backers, entrepreneurs, younger people.” He expressed no concerns about facing a competitive primary, telling Fox, “None, zero.”

On the Democratic side, former Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton launched her gubernatorial bid in January. However, attention is largely focused on former longtime Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, who narrowly lost his Senate seat in 2024 and is considered a potential candidate for either the Senate or gubernatorial race. Ramaswamy indicated to Fox News Digital he “would love the Democrats to have a competitive primary,” but asserted that the opponent wouldn’t matter, predicting a “decisive margin” of victory.
