Man Sparks Outrage After Using Racial Slur In Viral Video

DALLAS, TX- An Indian American man identified as Stanley Thomas has ignited widespread outrage after a video went viral showing him repeatedly using a racial slur at Moxie’s, a restaurant here. The clip, filmed by a Black woman, captured Thomas unapologetically defending his use of the N-word by claiming to be “20 percent black.”
The woman recording stated that Thomas had used the offensive term multiple times before she began filming. In the video, Thomas, seated at the bar, doubled down on his actions, stating, “I say the N-word all the time,” and even offered to demonstrate various pronunciations, deliberately emphasizing the hard “r.”
When warned that the video would go viral, Thomas appeared unfazed, responding with a thumbs-up and stating, “No, I’m proud,” before providing his name on camera. He attempted to justify his behavior by referencing the Siddi people, the minority ethnic group in India of African descent, as his basis for claiming “20 percent Black” heritage. The woman filming dismissed his explanation, sarcastically suggesting he share the video with his “fellow Indian friends.”
Online reactions were swift and condemning. One widely liked comment read, “On behalf of Indians worldwide, we do not claim him, and we don’t and should never say that word.” Another user emphasized, “Once again, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.”
