Modi’s 25 Years In Public Life: UP To Rename Noida Airport, Assam Passes 75 Resolutions
LUCKNOW/GUWAHATI- The cabinets of Uttar Pradesh and Assam on October 9 marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life with resolutions highlighting his contributions to development, including a proposal to rename Noida International Airport after him and 75 resolutions recognizing developments in Assam and the Northeast.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a proposal to rename Noida International Airport at Jewar as ‘Narendra Modi International Airport, Jewar, Noida’, while the Assam Cabinet adopted 75 resolutions at a special meeting dedicated to Modi’s public service, from his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister to his years as Prime Minister.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the airport decision after a Cabinet meeting that approved 39 proposals. He said Modi’s 25 years in public service had been pivotal to the development of the country and the state, noting that the Prime Minister had been elected to Parliament from Varanasi.
“It is a moment of immense pride for the UP Cabinet as it is from the land of UP (Varanasi) that PM Modi was elected as MP,” Adityanath said.
He cited the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and the return and installation of the idol of Goddess Annapurna from abroad as significant developments under Modi’s leadership. He also pointed to improved transport infrastructure, including expressways, highways, Metro services and the Regional Rapid Transit System, saying connectivity had improved significantly since 2017.
“The UP Cabinet is grateful to PM Modi for gifting Noida International Airport to the state, which is UP’s biggest airport and is going to become the country’s biggest aviation hub in the future,” Adityanath said.
In Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a special 90-minute Cabinet meeting devoted to Modi’s 25 years in public life. The 75 resolutions highlighted development in infrastructure, industrial investment, connectivity, healthcare, education and security.
“Peace created the conditions for development, connectivity opened doors to opportunity, industry and investment created new economic possibilities, and healthcare and education strengthened human capabilities,” Sarma said.
The resolutions cited major projects, including the Rs 27,000-crore semiconductor assembly and testing facility at Jagiroad, the Rs 28,000-crore expansion of Numaligarh Refinery and the proposed Gohpur-Numaligarh twin-tube road tunnel, estimated to cost Rs 18,662 crore.
Sarma noted that Modi had visited Assam 36 times since becoming Prime Minister, describing the state as an increasingly peaceful and investment-ready gateway to the Northeast under the Centre’s Act East Policy. (IANS)
