LOS ANGELES, CA – Warner Bros. Pictures has officially scheduled Remain, the upcoming supernatural romantic thriller from M. Night Shyamalan, for release in October 2026, according to Deadline. The film was widely expected to land at Warner Bros., following Shyamalan’s ongoing partnership with the studio.

The Sixth Sense director had previously released a string of psychological thrillers with Universal Pictures—including Split, Glass, Old, and Knock at the Cabin—before shifting to Warner Bros. His first film under the new deal, Trap, hit theaters last summer and earned nearly $84 million worldwide. Warner Bros. also recently released The Watchers, the directorial debut of Shyamalan’s daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan, which has grossed over $33 million globally, Deadline reported.

Remain features Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead, in a story co-created by Shyamalan and bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks. The film also stars Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor and Top Boy’s Ashley Walters.

The project is being produced by Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan under their Blinding Edge Pictures banner, alongside Marc Bienstock and Theresa Park, Sparks’ longtime producing partner. Sparks is also serving as executive producer.
