NEW YORK, NY – The Consulate General of India in New York marked the start of the 75-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga with a special morning session on April 7 at the One World Observatory, perched atop the iconic 1,776-foot-tall One World Trade Center.
Held at the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, the event brought together participants for a reflective and energizing yoga practice. In a post on X, the Consulate described the observatory as a “symbol of resilience and hope,” emphasizing that the gathering highlighted “a shared celebration of health, harmony, and holistic living.”
Consul General Binaya Srikanta Pradhan called the event a tribute to both yoga’s enduring global legacy and the human spirit’s capacity to heal. “This is more than a yoga session—it is a celebration of resilience, peace, and the power of togetherness,” he said.
The session was led by instructors from the Art of Living Foundation, who guided attendees through a blend of Yogasanas, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness practices, setting the tone for the lead-up to International Yoga Day on June 21.
