WASHINGTON, DC – Kash Patel, a former Trump administration official, faced a hostile crowd as he attempted to defend Donald Trump outside a lower Manhattan courthouse during the former president’s hush-money trial. Patel, who is expected to take a senior White House role if Trump returns to power, joined a group of MAGA loyalists in showing their support for Trump.

As Patel and other Trump allies, on May 20, gathered to speak to the press, their efforts were thwarted by a boisterous group of anti-Trump protesters armed with cowbells and loud chants. The protesters jeered and shouted “liars” and “traitors,” effectively drowning out the pro-Trump statements.

Patel attempted to portray Trump as a victim of an “unconstitutional weaponization of justice,” but his remarks were largely inaudible over the din of the crowd. Protesters directed specific chants at him, shouting “Kash Patel, Go to Hell!” and ensuring his message was lost amidst the chaos, the Daily Beast said.

This was part of a broader trend of MAGA supporters jockeying for influence and inclusion with Trump including potential vice-presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and J.D. Vance.

  • The New York criminal trial will end up in hung jury since the jury has to either go by Michael Cohen’s testimony which was full of lies and innuendos or they have to go by circumstantial evidence which is very slim to convict for felony so this will end up in hung jury.

    • Well that’s not true at all; the first week of the Prosecutions’ arguments were to substantiate and validate through other people, documents and records, that with or without Mr Cohen’s testimony, there was plenty of evidence to support and justify the charges. The fact there is a recording of a phone call between Cohen and Trump talking about the very basis of the case – that payment was made and Trump didn’t have to worry about it, it was done – pretty much says it all.
If you don’t WANT to see the evidence, then that’s on you, not the Prosecution. They laid out step by step so that the jury can clearly see what happened, who benefited and why it was done.
The sole witness the Defense brought to the stand got his lunch handed to him with the disclosure of his own emails.
Furthermore let’s not kid ourselves; the lies, innuendo and criminal conduct by Cohen was done almost exclusively for his boss.
Again, whether you do don’t want to see that is immaterial; and in case you misunderstood, the jury doesn’t have to find him guilty on everything, just enough to give him a felony. In other words, they can hang on one or more charges and still end up giving the defendant a criminal charge and that’s what matters.
Whether the Prosecution then retries the case will be decided based on the rationale for the jury to hang.
