Pak Nominates Trump For A Nobel, Hours Later It Condemns His Actions

NEW DELHI – In what can only be described as a dramatic diplomatic about-face, Pakistan on June 22 condemned the very man it had decided to nominate for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize just a day earlier: Donald Trump.

On June 21, Islamabad had announced it would recommend Trump for the prestigious peace accolade, lauding his “decisive diplomatic intervention” during the India-Pakistan standoff — a gesture widely seen as more about flattery than fact.

Critics have long noted Trump’s obsession with the Nobel Prize, which he has repeatedly — and publicly — complained about not receiving listing a long list of conflicts he says he has successfully tamped down. Routinely, given its superpower status, American presidents have effectively and quietly settled conflicts around the world with the public learning about it months or even years later.

India, which has consistently rejected third-party mediation, especially by the U.S., reiterated that Trump had “no role whatsoever” in defusing tensions.

But less than 24 hours after singing his praises, Pakistan was back on the global podium — this time to denounce Trump’s military strike on Iran.

Not quite the peace credentials the Nobel committee might be looking for.

“We are gravely concerned at the possible further escalation of tensions in the region,” Pakistan’s foreign ministry said, warning that the attacks — which targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites — violated international law.

  • Trump has failed spectacularly to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia, where ongoing conflict persists despite his boasts, and between Israel and Palestine, where tensions remain unresolved under his watch. Moreover, his administration has instigated a dangerous escalation of war between Israel and Iran, fueling regional instability. His assertion of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan is a blatant lie, as India has firmly denied any U.S. mediation, attributing the truce to direct military talks marred by mutual violation accusations.
This pattern of failure and falsehood extends across multiple fronts, from the unfulfilled promises in Congo-Rwanda to the Middle East, where peace remains elusive. True peace demands genuine effort, not the fabricated glory Trump peddles through lies. As a member of the South Asian community with experience in U.S. foreign policy, I call for media focus on verifiable diplomacy and regional stability, urging our leaders to reject political posturing and prioritize authentic solutions to bring peace.

  • LOL. A rogue worthless rogue nation nominated Trump for noble prize. Of course, credibility of the nomination speaks for itself – flattery and stupidity are boundless.
