Physician Arrested, Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes

DETROIT, MI – Oumair Aejaz, a 40-year-old physician from Rochester Hills, has been charged with multiple sex crimes involving both adults and children. The charges against Aejaz include one count of child sexually abusive activity, four counts of capturing an image of an unclothed person, five additional counts of child sexually abusive activity, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

CBS News said Aejaz, is an Indian citizen who has been in the US on a visa since 2011 and is accused of secretly recording individuals at various locations, including his home, places of employment, and a swim club. Allegedly, he installed hidden cameras in changing rooms, bathrooms, hospital rooms, and other private areas, capturing footage of victims ranging from a 2-year-old child to adults.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, some of the recorded material includes disturbing images, such as a toddler undressing and an unconscious woman being violated.

Aejaz, who is married and has two young children, has been working in Michigan since 2011, completed his residency at Sinai Grace Hospital before moving to Alabama in 2018 and then returning to Oakland County. Due to his work history, the investigation is expected to extend across state lines and potentially internationally.

Aejaz was arrested on August 8 and is currently held in the Oakland County Jail with a $2 million bond. His arrest followed his wife’s report of disturbing materials, leading to an investigation that uncovered extensive evidence of his crimes. This includes numerous videos found on a hard drive containing 13,000 files. Authorities are continuing to investigate other potential locations and instances of his criminal behavior.
