Reasonable? Ambani Wedding Celebrations Include $10 Million For Justin Bieber

MUMBAI – In the never ending celebrations that have been the hallmark of the latest Ambani wedding – Anant and Radhika this time – Canadian pop star Justin Bieber was reportedly paid at least $10 million for the gig.
Whatever the amount, in a nation that still knows poverty, and has the Indian diaspora, including Indian-Americans raising money for education, homes and all kinds of other things for the needy, there has been remarkable acceptance and in some quarters awe for the kind of money that the Ambanis seem to be tossing around.
Bieber, who flew in from Los Angeles, was pictured at the Mumbai airport on the morning of July 5 wearing an oversized pink T-shirt and a bucket hat.
Footage of his concert in the financial hub that night shared on social media showed him performing his 2015 hit Sorry in front of hundreds of people which included film stars and cricketers.
Justin Bieber is only the latest among Western musicians who are being paid outsize amounts to usher in the wedding of the younger son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani.
Rihanna performed at an extravagant event in Gujarat. On a four-day Mediterranean cruise, Katy Perry performed. The Backstreet Boys, Pitbull and Andrea Bocelli were also in the entertainment parade.

It is their money to spend how and where they want. My concern is the amount of BLACK MONEY that this family owns.
It is amazing to see the erosion in values from Dhirubhai’s generation to his grandchildren. Weddings are family affairs. This was a business affair. I think the family that invested in Dhirubhai was forgotten.

This is a shameless effort by Ambani for great show off. What is he trying to prove- it sounds like an empty vessel. Alas, he can afford $10 million for Justin (perhaps another $500 million or more) for the absurd extravaganza while millions are starving in India. It is amazing to watch how they flaunt their power and wealth – a disgrace for the family and those in power fattening Ambani’s wallet.

Disgrace to the nation to invite foreign artists and pay them obscene amount of money when Modiji is trying to keep the wealth and foreign exchange inside the country. Not sure if even 10% of audience understand Justin or Riyana. Just a show off by a Baniya or Dalal that he has money
