Riverside County Deputy Vikas Sharma Honored

TEMECULA, CA – Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Vikas Sharma has been named the department’s ‘Reserve Deputy of the Year.’ The award was presented by Sheriff Chad Bianco during the department’s annual awards ceremony on June 30 at Pechanga Resort Casino.

The Reserve Deputy of the Year award recognizes exceptional service, leadership, bravery, and dedication among the department’s reserve deputies.

Sharma joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 2017 as a citizen volunteer. He later became a sworn deputy in early 2020 and was assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station.

The awards ceremony brought together deputies, department leaders, and community members to recognize outstanding service and accomplishments over the past year. In announcing the honor, the Sheriff’s Department cited Sharma’s calm demeanor, quick thinking, and strong tactical awareness as qualities that distinguished his service.
