Sai Pallavi Says Playing Sita Was A Spiritual Experience
MUMBAI-Actress Sai Pallavi said she approached the role of Sita in the upcoming cinematic epic ‘Ramayana’ with prayer and surrender, seeking to learn from the character rather than relying on her usual analytical approach to portraying a role.
Pallavi, along with co-stars appeared on the sets of the popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The actors spoke about their experiences of being part of the much-anticipated project.
Reflecting on her approach to portraying Sita, Pallavi said, “This time, I did not want to use my mind too much. Whenever I play a character, I usually think about what I can do for that character. But for the first time, while playing the role of Sita Maa, I found myself wondering, ‘What will I receive from this experience? What knowledge will I gain? What will I take away from it?’”
She explained that she wanted to remain open to the character’s teachings rather than approach the role with preconceived notions. Instead of relying solely on her own understanding, she chose to surrender to the experience through prayer.
“Whatever I knew, I wanted to keep it transparent. I didn’t want to think too much about anything. I simply prayed and said, ‘Mother, please let me play that role through me,’ and left it at that,” she said. (IANS)
