Singer Suchitra Accuses Fiancé Of Physical Abuse, Fraud

MUMBAI – Singer and former radio jockey Suchitra has publicly accused her fiancé, Chennai-based High Court lawyer Shunmugaraj, of domestic abuse, financial fraud, and deceit. In a video posted on her Instagram account, Suchitra said that Shunmugaraj physically assaulted her and took control of her finances, leaving her “financially drained.”

Suchitra, who has been in a relationship with Shunmugaraj for years, alleged that she was “beaten several times.” She described the abuse by saying, “He kicked me with his boots like a WWF wrestler. I used to sit in a corner and cry, asking him to stop.” She further claimed that Shunmugaraj financially exploited her, stating, “He took away all my money… He used my house, my resources, and left me with nothing.”

The singer, who moved to Mumbai a few months ago, revealed that she was forced out of her home in Chennai. She plans to pursue legal action to recover her losses. According to Suchitra, Shunmugaraj also lied about his marital status, as she later discovered he was not divorced from his first wife.

Suchitra said Shunmugaraj had isolated her from her social circle, taking advantage of her vulnerability following the 2016 “Suchi Leaks” controversy. That incident involved the release of private content from her social media account, which affected several Tamil celebrities. Suchitra has since disabled comments on her posts to avoid personal attacks, but has vowed to “chase him till he pays back every single paisa.”

As of now, Shunmugaraj and his legal representatives have not yet responded to the allegations.
