Sonali Bendre Says ‘Sohla’ Marks A Meaningful New Chapter In Her Career

MUMBAI-Actress Sonali Bendre has opened up about stepping into a new role as a presenter with the upcoming film ‘Sohla’, calling it the beginning of a meaningful new chapter in her career.

The actress said the project immediately resonated with her because of its themes of hope, resilience and the quiet strength of ordinary people.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories that stay with you long after they’ve ended… stories that make you pause, reflect, and perhaps even see life a little differently… and that’s exactly what ‘Sohla’ left me with,” Sonali said.

She added that she hopes to champion emotionally engaging films while introducing audiences to emerging storytellers and voices that deserve to be discovered.

“I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting first step than ‘Sohla’, and I hope audiences leave the theatre feeling exactly what I felt when I first heard this story,” she said.

Writer-director Saaikat Bagbaan said having Sonali Bendre present the film and Rose Movies come on board had strengthened the project.

“Every filmmaker hopes to find collaborators who believe in the story as deeply as they do, and that’s exactly what happened with ‘Sohla’. From the very beginning, the vision was to tell an honest, emotionally rooted story that celebrates hope and the resilience of ordinary people,” Bagbaan said.

The film, written and directed by Saaikat Bagbaan, is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16. (IANS)
