Sourav Ganguly Surprises Fans In Police Avatar For New Netflix Series

MUMBAI (ANI)- Excitement for Netflix’s upcoming series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter soared after former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly appeared in a promotional video ahead of its March 20 premiere.

In the viral promo, Ganguly dons a police uniform, wields a baton, and humorously showcases his cricketing shots while interrogating a prisoner during an audition for the crime drama. Netflix introduced him as “The Bengal Tiger” in the video, further fueling anticipation.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ganguly shared, “As someone passionate about thrillers and cop dramas, Khakee as a franchise is one of my favorites. This collaboration with Netflix has been an absolute delight.”

Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the series follows an IPS officer battling crime, corruption, and political influence in early 2000s Kolkata. Co-written by Neeraj Pandey, , it stars Bengali cinema icons Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Saswata Chatterjee.

Notably, it is the first Hindi drama to feature an entirely Bengali cast.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter premieres on March 20.
