NEW YORK (ANI): The Tibet Museum, under the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration, has launched a travelling exhibition across the United States from February 3 to 24 to raise awareness about Tibet’s situation and foster collaborations with local universities and museums.

According to the Office of Tibet, the initiative is supported by four Tibetan Community Associations in the US and includes stops in New York, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Chicago. The exhibition, overseen by Additional Secretary Namgyal Tsewang and Tibet Museum Director Tenzin Topdhen, presents Tibet’s history, ongoing challenges, and environmental concerns. Tsewang emphasized that the exhibition is more than a historical showcase—it is an educational effort to highlight Tibetans’ struggles under Chinese rule.

The first event took place on February 3 at Tibet House in New York. From February 4 to 6, it will be displayed at Tibetan Community Association venues in New York and New Jersey, followed by Minnesota from February 8 to 13, Wisconsin from February 15 to 20, and Chicago from February 21 to 23.

Featuring over 100 artifacts, including historical photographs, Tibetan currency, and stamps, the exhibition highlights Tibet’s rich cultural heritage. Some venues will also screen documentary films to provide a deeper understanding of Tibet’s history, the Dalai Lama’s commitments, and the region’s environmental crises.

This initiative reflects the Tibet Museum’s dedication to preserving Tibetan culture and advocating for Tibet’s rights internationally. By collaborating with Tibetan Community Associations, including the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey, the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota, the Wisconsin Tibetan Association, and the Tibetan Alliance of Chicago, the exhibition aims to strengthen global awareness and support for the Tibetan cause.
