Trump Presides Over Military Parade In Washington
WASHINGTON, DC (ANI) – The US Army celebrated its 250th birthday on June 14. President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday also fell on this day and was marked by a military parade in Washington. The show started early due to thunderstorm threats.
Trump, who has long wanted a large military parade, praised the Army.
“The Army keeps us free, you make us strong, and tonight, you have made all Americans very proud,” Trump told soldiers in Washington
He also thanked veterans and those who died in battle. “We love you, we honor you and we salute your noble service to our flag and to our country,” Trump said. He highlighted the “magnificent display” of tanks, troops, and aircraft.
Trump was given a folded flag that had flown over the capital. They then enjoyed a live performance by Lee Greenwood.
The celebrations in Washington D.C. ended with fireworks over the National Mall. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump along with several cabinet members watched the display.
