Trump Questions $21M US Aid Spending On Voter Turnout In India
MIAMI, FL (ANI)- At the FII PRIORITY Summit here, President Donald Trump criticized the U.S. government’s decision to allocate $21 million for voter turnout efforts in India, comparing it to concerns over foreign interference in American elections.
“Twenty-one million dollars for voter turnout—why do we need to spend that in India?” Trump asked. “I guess they were trying to get somebody else elected. Because when we hear that Russia spent about two thousand dollars in our country, it was a big deal. They took some internet ads for two thousand dollars. This is a total breakthrough.”
Trump also questioned the necessity of spending millions on voter initiatives abroad while highlighting India’s trade policies. “They got a lot of money. They’re one of the highest-taxing countries in the world in terms of us. We can hardly get in there because their tariffs are so high,” he said.
