Vicky Kaushal In Hot Water Over ‘Wife Jokes’

MUMBAI -Actor Vicky Kaushal has come under online fire after a video from a wedding event showed him making remarks about married life that several social media users described as outdated.

In the clip, Kaushal engages with the groom’s father and leads the audience in his popular “How’s the josh?” call-and-response. He then comments that while bachelors tend to have consistently high enthusiasm, it tends to decline over time after marriage, adding that it does not drop within just a few days.

The video, widely shared on Reddit, prompted mixed reactions, with a section of users objecting to the tone of the remarks. One user wrote that such humor should have been “left… in 2016,” while another said, “I don’t like it when men make fun of their marriage in public. It indirectly insults their wife, and it’s not funny.”

Some others described the comments as “cringe” and said they did not expect such remarks from the actor, even if he was performing for an audience.

Kaushal is married to actor Katrina Kaif. The couple wed in December 2021 in Udaipur after keeping their relationship private and welcomed their son, Vihaan Kaushal, in November 2025.
