SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Volunteers of the non-profit organization Dr. Shri. Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan (DSNDP) came together on June 8 to undertake two significant cleanup projects: the “Adopt-A-Road” cleanup drive in collaboration with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) at Livorna Road in Alamo, and the “People-of-Parks” cleanup drive with the City of Dublin at 4201 Central Parkway.

These initiatives saw the participation of volunteers from Alameda and Contra Costa Counties who worked diligently collecting approximately 135 pounds of trash. These efforts align with DSNDP vision to foster a brighter future through cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

Since July 2022, DSNDP has been collaborating and conducting nationwide cleanliness drives under the guidance of its founders, Drs. Appasaheb and Sachindada Dharmadhikai. In California alone, DSNDP has organized various cleanup events such as Adopt-A-Ramp, Adopt-A-Beach, and Adopt-A-Highway across 10 cities. These events have engaged a total of 248 volunteers, who have contributed approximately 500 hours, resulting in the collection of 5055 pounds of trash.

DSNDP has collaborated with 18 states and 73 cities in the US including 20 different programs such as Adopt-A-Highway, Adopt-A-Park, Adopt-A-Beach, and Adopt-A-River. These efforts have mobilized 1899 volunteers, who have collected over 31,000 pounds of trash, significantly reducing costs for the government. In recognition of their efforts, DSNDP has received accolades in the form of 50 signboards from various state and county governments.

Beyond cleanup drives, DSNDP is also engaged in tree plantation initiatives across 15 states and 33 cities in the US. Recently, the organization celebrated Earth Day 2024 with a Mega Cleanliness Drive and Tree Conservation Event held simultaneously at 21 locations.

The ongoing efforts of DSNDP exemplify a commitment to environmental sustainability and community service, reflecting the organization’s dedication to creating a cleaner, greener future for all.
