The Same Stage Once Rejected Me: Ayushmann On ‘Indian Idol’

MUMBAI- Actor and singer Ayushmann Khurrana reflected on his early struggles in the entertainment industry after performing on the singing reality show Indian Idol, recalling that he had once faced rejection on the same stage.

The ‘Dream Girl’ actor performed the reprised version of “Dil Waale Chor” from his latest film ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ during a recent episode of the show.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Ayushmann wrote, “This is the extended version of Dil Wale Chor (reprise) which I performed at Indian Idol. The same stage which once rejected me during my struggling days. Surreal. Thanks for loving the song. Thanks for loving the film. #PatiPatniAurWohDo running successfully in cinemas! (sic).”

Ayushmann was rejected during the second season of ‘Indian Idol’ before eventually building a successful career as an actor, singer, and television personality.

During the episode, Ayushmann also praised veteran actress and dancer Helen for her contribution to Indian cinema. (IANS)
