JACKSONVILLE, FL. – Dr. Nihal Satyadev, a neurology resident at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, has received the Golden Stethoscope Award, a teaching honor voted on by medical students.

Now in his third year of residency, Satyadev was one of only two Florida residents recognized during the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine’s Class of 2026 commencement program. The award honors residents and fellows who demonstrate exceptional dedication to teaching and mentorship during clinical training.

A Southern California native, Satyadev’s work spans neuroscience, public health and technology. Earlier in his career, he founded the Youth Movement Against Alzheimer’s, which became the nation’s largest youth-led Alzheimer’s organization before being acquired by Hilarity for Charity, the nonprofit founded by Seth and Lauren Rogen.

He has also served on California’s Alzheimer’s Brain Trust and the National Advisory Council for Dementia Friendly America. His research focuses on dementia and related neurological disorders, and he is involved in efforts exploring the use of artificial intelligence in neurology. Satyadev plans to pursue a career focused on advancing dementia and stroke care through emerging technologies.
