NEW DELHI-Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim brought an unexpected musical moment to the BRICS dinner, singing a Kishore Kumar classic as leaders and dignitaries gathered for the summit.

Seated at the dinner with a pianist providing the melody, Anwar sang “Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat” from the 1965 film ‘Teen Devian’. The song was composed by S D Burman and written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

Anwar later shared a video of his performance on his X account.

The Malaysian leader had sung the same song during an interview in India in 2024, highlighting his fondness for Kishore Kumar and Hindi film music.

The musical performance added a personal and cultural touch to an otherwise formal summit schedule, with the familiar Hindi film song becoming a memorable India-Malaysia moment. (IANS)
