Govinda Shoots Himself, Bullet Removed

MUMBAI, (ANI) – Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda underwent emergency surgery at a hospital here, following an accidental gunshot wound to his leg. The incident occurred on the morning of October 1 as the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata.

In an audio statement released by Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde, Govinda said the bullet had been removed.

According to reports, the accident happened while Govinda was handling his licensed revolver. His close aide, Shashi Sinha, provided details about the mishap, clarifying that the actor was stowing the weapon away when it accidentally fell and discharged. “The injury is below the left knee. The bullet has now been removed,” Sinha confirmed, adding that Govinda was in good spirits.

Govinda’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, said that her father underwent surgery to remove the bullet and would be kept in the ICU for observation for at least a day. Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was traveling at the time of the incident, also rushed back to be by her husband’s side.
