NEW YORK, NY — More than 1,250 seekers gathered at the historic Riverside Church on August 9 to receive the blessings of Paramahamsa Vishwananda, revered spiritual master and founder of the global Bhakti Marga movement.
The evening, centered on his Divine Darshan, filled the cathedral with sacred music, deep devotion, and a sense of grace that many described as transformative.
Over six hours, the program wove together kirtan, heartfelt chanting, and the sacred blessing of Darshan, creating what attendees called a profound experience of inner peace and connection. Many were moved to tears as voices joined in song, radiating unity and joy.
“I am not giving you this Love — I am helping you remember and experience the Love that has always been within you,” Paramahamsa Vishwananda told the congregation, drawing emotional responses from the crowd.
For many in New York’s Indian American and South Asian community, the event was both a spiritual gathering and a celebration of Sanatana Dharma, cultural heritage, and shared devotion.

Paramahamsa Vishwananda has blessed more than 600,000 people worldwide through his teachings and Darshan, encouraging followers to awaken to the eternal truth of love within. His Bhakti Marga movement — meaning “Path of Devotion” — operates in over 80 countries, with 220-plus centers and 17 ashrams, including the U.S. headquarters, the Paranitya Narasimha Temple in Elmira, NY.
He is scheduled to be at the upcoming celebrations at the Elmira ashram, including Krishna Janmashtami and Darshan on August 16 and 17. From September 11 to 14, he will be at the Soul Awakening retreat, focused on Atma Kriya Yoga.
Bhakti Marga’s mission includes kirtan, yoga, meditation, and community service, with the aim of helping people build a personal relationship with the Divine. More information is available at www.bhaktimarga.us.
