NEW YORK, NY — Around 90 members of the Indian American community gathered in New York for an interactive session with a visiting Indian parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP P.P. Chaudhary. The lawmakers praised the diaspora for its vital role in strengthening the US-India partnership and for promoting India’s image and values abroad.

The parliamentarians also invited the community to actively participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ initiative, which envisions India’s transformation into a developed nation by its 100th year of independence.

The event, organized by the Consulate General of India in New York, was attended by New Jersey State Senators Raj Mukherji and Vin Gopal, who commended the growing political and cultural influence of Indian Americans in the United States.

The 12-member delegation, led by Chaudhary, included N. K. The group was in New York to represent India’s position at the United Nations General Assembly.

During their visit, the delegation met with Amandeep Singh Gill, the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology.
