Hansal Mehta And Master Chef Shamsher Ahmed Team Up for AI-Infused Food Show

MUMBAI – Hansal Mehta, who originally revolutionized television with the iconic ‘Khana Khazana,’ is returning to the world of food with a futuristic twist. His latest project, ‘Khana Dil Se – An AI Journey Through India’s Kitchen,’ is an AI-driven cooking series produced through a partnership between Collective Studios and True Story Films, a company founded by Mehta and producer Sahil Saigal.

A newly released teaser provides a first look at the series, which uses artificial intelligence to explore India’s vast culinary heritage. For Mehta, this project marks a homecoming to the genre where he first made his mark in the early 1990s.

Back then, he created the pioneering show that turned Chef Sanjeev Kapoor into a household name and changed how the country viewed food on screen. Three decades later, he is collaborating with AI and Master Chef Shamsher Ahmed, who joins the team as a subject matter expert and culinary consultant.

‘Khana Dil Se’ is described as a cultural exploration that traces stories of migration, memory, and identity through generational recipes. Mehta explained that food serves as a durable cultural document, carrying the history of land and family across borders. He noted that cooking a dish from another culture allows a person to step into someone else’s life, making food a uniquely honest way to understand people.

With this new show, the team aims to use every available tool, including AI, to preserve and trace these culinary stories before they disappear.

Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, added that the project reflects their belief that storytelling must evolve alongside the tools available to creators.
