ORLANDO, FL –A.P. Singh of Kolkata, India, was officially elected as the new president of Lions Clubs International, one of the world’s largest service organizations, during the association’s 107th International Convention held in here from July 13 to 17.

Singh, a practicing chartered accountant with family business interests in automobile dealerships, brings more than four decades of service to the role. A member of the Calcutta Vikas Lions Club since 1984, he has held nearly every major leadership position within the global organization, from district governor to council chairperson and international coordinator.

Over the years, Singh has made a significant impact on Lions Clubs’ global service initiatives. He served as GMT international coordinator for four years, chaired the 2017 District Governor Elect seminar in Chicago, and has been faculty at over 50 Lions leadership training programs across the world. He also played a critical role in major fundraising campaigns, serving as a multinational coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II and Constitutional Area leader for Campaign 100. He has chaired India’s National SightFirst Committee and served on the LCIF Steering Committee.

Internationally, Singh has been an active voice at Area Forums in all constitutional areas and co-chaired the Organizing Committee of the ISAAME Forum in Kolkata.

In recognition of his extraordinary commitment, Singh has received multiple International President’s Awards and the association’s highest honor—the Ambassador of Good Will Award. He is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and a major gift donor to Lions’ signature campaigns.

Beyond Lions, Singh has led initiatives in leadership development, microfinance, and digital engagement—building platforms and programs in collaboration with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.

Singh and his wife are parents to three children.

With his election, Singh becomes the newest leader of an organization that boasts over 1.4 million members across more than 200 countries and regions.
