Anand Sharma Running For Shrewsbury Select Board

LEXINGTON, MA – Anand Sharma, a resident of Shrewsbury since 2001, has announced his candidacy for the Shrewsbury Select Board. He and his wife, Meenu, along with their children, Jiya and Arvin, have built their life in the community.

Sharma holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and an MBA, and works as an IT specialist at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, here. His professional background in technology and management shapes his approach to town leadership, he said.

Active in Shrewsbury, Sharma has contributed in various roles, including participating in town meetings, the 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee, and the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury. He has also served as Vice President of Spirit of Shrewsbury, organizing events like the annual Fall Festival, and has led community initiatives such as the Adopt-A-Highway Program and 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

Sharma’s vision for Shrewsbury includes enhancing community engagement, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. He aims to strengthen transparency and collaboration between the Select Board and residents while advocating for growth that respects the town’s heritage.
