Anupam Kher Reunites With Robert De Niro At Cannes

CANNES (ANI)-  Anupam Kher reunited with Hollywood’s Robert De Niro at the ongoing 78th Cannes Film Festival.

De Niro received the prestigious honorary Palme d’Or for Lifetime Achievement at Cannes 2025. Kher, meanwhile, is attending the festival for the world premiere of his upcoming film Tanvi The Great on May 17.

The two last shared the screen in the 2012 film Silver Linings Playbook, which also starred Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. According to a press note from Kher’s team, the actors caught up during the festival, sharing warm moments and discussing Kher’s new film. Kher also introduced debutante Shubhangi Dutt to De Niro, who warmly extended his best wishes to the young actor.

On May 15, Anupam Kher took to Instagram to share photos from his red carpet appearance. Dressed in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, the Saaransh actor captioned his post simply: “Red Carpet!”

Tanvi The Great features a stellar cast including Karan Tacker—making his film debut—Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, and Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen. The film’s sound design is helmed by Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty.
