Arijit Singh Steps Out Of Retirement, Sings For Aamir Khan
MUMBAI – Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan visited singer Arijit Singh in Murshidabad, following Singh’s announcement of retirement from playback singing. Khan personally pursued Singh to lend his voice for the title track of the upcoming film ‘Ek Din’.
On February 23, the makers of ‘Ek Din’ released the title track, featuring Arijit Singh’s vocals. The accompanying video showcased Aamir Khan’s visit to Singh’s residence on February 3, just days after the singer’s retirement announcement. In the video, Khan is seen appealing to Singh, saying, “Don’t do that, what will we do?”
Aamir Khan stayed in Murshidabad for four days to convince Arijit Singh to record the film’s title track. Speculation about Singh’s return to playback singing was confirmed when Khan shared a poster, thanking Singh for his contribution to ‘Ek Din’. The film stars Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan and is produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
‘Ek Din’ marks a reunion between Aamir Khan and filmmaker Mansoor Khan, who have previously collaborated on notable films such as ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’. Directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit, the film is slated for release in theaters on May 1, 2026.
