AHMEDABAD- The IPL 2025 closing ceremony struck a powerful emotional chord as renowned musician Shankar Mahadevan, joined by his sons Shivam and Siddharth, delivered a stirring tribute to the Indian armed forces through a medley of patriotic songs.

Taking center stage at the packed Narendra Modi Stadium ahead of the final clash between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the trio opened with the title track from the film Lakshya—a song closely associated with themes of courage and sacrifice. Their performance continued with “Lehra Do” from ’83, originally sung by Arijit Singh, capturing the spirit of India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup triumph.

The musical tribute also featured renditions of powerful anthems such as Suno Gaur SeVande Mataram, and Aye Watan, resonating deeply with spectators and viewers alike. The display was further amplified by a dramatic aerial flyover of helicopters bearing the national flag and symbols of the armed forces.

The tribute held special significance coming shortly after the Indian armed forces’ decisive response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. This musical homage served as a poignant reminder of their ongoing dedication and sacrifice. (With ANI Inputs)
