CHINO HILLS, CA – Devotees across North America gathered at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandirs to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Lord Rama and Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan. The festivities reflected devotion, reflection, and a deep sense of community.
This year’s theme, “Unity Begins Within,” encouraged inner harmony and collective togetherness. Spiritual observances such as waterless fasting, jap, and dhun created a meditative and uplifting atmosphere throughout the day.

Programs featured traditional rituals—aarti, abhishek, and processions—alongside youth-led cultural performances that brought to life the values and stories of both divine figures. Children and teens used dance, music, and skits to explore teachings that continue to inspire generations.
Four principles of unity—mahima (glory), milan (togetherness), madad (support), and maafi (forgiveness)—were highlighted through stories from the Ramayan and Swaminarayan history. Narratives of Shabri, Sugriva, and Kaikeyi paralleled those of Dada Khachar and Jhinabhai Thakor, demonstrating timeless values.
Swamis delivered inspiring discourses linking these lessons to modern life and leadership.
