Biden “Most Pro-India President,” Modi “Most Pro-American PM” In History: Garcetti
NEW YORK, NY (ANI) – US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, on September 23, highlighted the “close friendship” between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden, calling it pivotal in strengthening ties between the two nations.
He described Modi as the most pro-American Prime Minister in Indian history and Biden as the most pro-Indian President in US history.
Garcetti emphasized the role of the Quad, a forum of the US, India, Japan, and Australia, in promoting a free, prosperous Indo-Pacific, addressing shared challenges, and fostering cooperation across areas like disaster relief and supply chains.
He underscored that the Quad is not a military alliance but a collaborative effort to ensure peace and prosperity, and that no nation should feel threatened by it. Garcetti added that the forum is about standing up for shared principles and delivering solutions for the region.
Biden hosted the sixth Quad Summit, which was attended by Prime Minister Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Garcetti praised the forum’s focus on cooperation in areas such as climate solutions, healthcare, and economic development, particularly in ensuring stable supply chains. He noted that while security is crucial, the Quad’s primary goal is to maintain peace and prosperity rather than project military power.
