Bobby Deol On Aashram Season 3 : A Role That Challenged Me
MUMBAI (ANI) – Bobby Deol opened up about his experience working with director Prakash Jha in Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2 and how the role pushed him as an actor.
Recalling Jha’s initial approach, Deol said, “I was ready to take on different roles and step out of my comfort zone. But in this industry, an actor’s image often defines opportunities. When Prakash ji wanted to meet me, I assumed he would offer me a police officer’s role. But when he said, ‘Aap baba ka role play karenge,’ I couldn’t believe it.”
Reflecting on his journey as Baba Nirala, Deol credited Jha’s belief in him for the opportunity. “I finally got what I had been waiting for. God was kind to me, and I received such a challenging role,” he said.
Jha, praising Deol’s performance, shared, “Bobby really worked hard. He has the capacity to play this role, which is why I cast him. I needed a face that appealed to everyone, and hats off to him; he worked diligently on his character and language. I told him from day one, ‘Don’t watch any baba’s videos… just believe that you are the baba.’”
On preparing for the role, Deol added, “Prakash Jha told me, ‘People will listen to you, keep this in mind.’ I always remembered this and avoided caricaturing the character. If I ever deviated, Prakash ji would correct me. It’s been an amazing journey, and every actor has done a great job.”
Teasing what’s in store for fans, Deol said, “The journey of Baba Nirala has been incredible, and the love this franchise has received is overwhelming. This time, the stakes are higher, the drama bolder, and the secrets even darker.”
Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2 will be available for free streaming from February 27 on Amazon MX Player.
