Born In Fremont, Boosted In Atlanta: Sid Sriram’s New Single ‘SOL’
MUMBAI — Global music icon Sid Sriram has released his biggest pop single yet, SOL, a Tamil-language track that blends sound and visuals into an immersive experience.
Written, composed, produced and performed by Sid Sriram, SOL carries additional production from Atlanta-based producer Mike Will-Made It. Known for his romantic ballads, Sid turns toward a celebration of love in this release, brought to life through a striking music video.
Directed by Parasher Baruah, who also helmed Sriram’s devotional track Sivanar, the video features Usha Jey and her viral dance crew. Their signature style, which fuses Bharatanatyam with hip-hop, adds energy, tradition, and a modern edge to the narrative.
Sid Sriram traced the track’s origins back to Fremont, California, where he began writing it a year ago. “It came from a place of stillness and reflection, reconnecting with myself and rediscovering joy,” he said. “When Mike Will-Made It and I linked up in Atlanta, he added a bounce to the piece that pushed it over the edge.”
The visuals were created in collaboration with Sriram’s sister Pallavi, his father, and Baruah. Set against a futuristic backdrop with a barren tree and ancient walls symbolizing silence and memory, the video incorporates choreography inspired by Kolam patterns. Jey and her crew’s hybrid style bridges classical form and contemporary rhythm, infusing movement into the song’s themes of vibrance, evolution, and love.
Released under Sriram’s joint venture with Warner Music India, SOL follows his string of viral hits including Srivalli (Pushpa), Inkem Inkem Inkem Kaavaale (Geetha Govindam), Nee Singam Dhan, Minnalvala, and acclaimed singles like Sivanar and En Kadhaa/Kanne. The artist, also the first South Indian to perform at Coachella, continues to build a global presence with hundreds of millions of streams. (IANS)
