British Royals Honor Air India Crash Victims With Black Armbands

LONDON- King Charles III and senior members of the UK royal family wore black armbands during Saturday’s Trooping the Colour ceremony in a solemn tribute to victims of the devastating Air India crash.
The gesture, observed during the annual military parade marking the King’s official birthday, came just two days after a London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
Of the 242 passengers and crew onboard, only one—a British Indian national—survived.
A minute of silence was held immediately after King Charles completed his inspection of the troops. The Palace said the King personally requested the addition to the ceremony “as a mark of respect for the lives lost, the families in mourning, and all the communities affected by this awful tragedy.”
