DUBLIN, CA — The Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple here was burglarized early on the morning of September 7, with thieves stealing an estimated $34,000 in cash and jewelry, according to Dublin Police.
This is the second time this year that the same temple, located at 6930 Village Parkway, has been targeted, following a previous burglary in January 2024.
The incident is the latest in a series of crimes that have raised security concerns for Hindu American communities across the Bay Area.
The recent pattern of criminal activity has drawn congressional attention, with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi visiting a Santa Clara temple after it was burglarized twice in 2024.
Dublin Police Services confirmed that the investigation into the September 7 burglary is active.
As of September 8, authorities stated there is no evidence to indicate the crime was motivated by religious prejudice.

Too many and too often. Why can’t the temple have premises on the inside for security staff to monitor. Outside camera monitors are not effective, they only provide information “after the fact”; secondly, another option is to employ security companies like Brinks to take in daily cash/remittance to bank as it happens with other stores; Has become occurrences with stores selling jewelry as well. Or accept digital payments only a long with major credit card payments, meaning no cash in premises. Other than that, employ a bunch of Cane Corsos
