Chhath Brings Bihar And Jharkhand Ghats To New Jersey Park

EDISON, NJ – Community members gathered at Papaianni Park here, to celebrate Chhath Mahaparv with devotion and reverence, honoring the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya through traditional rituals and offerings.

Organized by the Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA), the annual celebration brought together more than 700 people from the community. Around 40 devotees performed  the evening offering while families sang devotional songs, lit diyas, and made offerings standing in the water.

BJANA President Sanjeev Singh expressed gratitude to the volunteers and participants, telling ANI, “The energy among the community this year was truly inspiring.”

Vice President Priti Kashyap said, “None of this would have been possible without our volunteers and the continued support from Mayor Sam Joshi and the Township of Edison,” she said. (ANI)
