Cricket Star Suryakumar Yadav Becomes Major League Baseball Ambassador

NEW YORK, NY – Major League Baseball has appointed Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav, popularly known as SKY, as an ambassador to lead the league’s expansion efforts in India.

Under the partnership, Yadav will work with MLB on fan engagement initiatives, original content and events designed to introduce baseball to more fans across the country.

The collaboration will also see Yadav participate in MLB activities in both India and the United States, including MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia from July 10 to 14. He is expected to appear in fan engagement programs and original content aimed at connecting Indian audiences with the game.

“One of the best things about sport is that it brings people together, no matter where they’re from,” Yadav said. “I’m excited to partner with Major League Baseball and be part of its journey in India. I look forward to learning more about the game myself and helping more fans discover the energy, excitement and culture that make baseball something else.”

Yadav is among India’s leading cricketers. He was part of the team that won the Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024 and later captained India to another title in the tournament’s 2026 edition.
