Day 1 On Job, Attorney General Bondi Orders Review Of Trump Prosecutions
WASHINGTON, DC – Attorney General Pam Bondi, in her first hours in office, issued directives for a Justice Department review of prosecutions involving President Donald Trump.
Bondi was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas at the Oval Office on February 5, with President Trump in attendance.
She established a “weaponization working group” to examine law enforcement policies under the Biden administration, initially focusing on Trump-related cases, including those pursued by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and former Special Counsel Jack Smith. The review also includes prosecutions of individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack.
The Justice Department has begun collecting information on FBI agents and prosecutors involved in the investigations. Bondi’s directive states that the working group will assess investigative tactics and prosecutions.
