DOGE Cancels $22 Million Voter Turnout Funding For India

WASHINGTON, DC (ANI)- The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has announced it will cancel several foreign aid projects as part of its initiative to reduce government spending. One of the notable cancellations is a $22 million program intended to boost voter turnout in India.
DOGE also said it was canceling $29 million for strengthening the political landscape in Bangladesh. Other funding cuts include $10 million for a medical program in Mozambique and $39 million for initiatives focused on fiscal federalism and biodiversity conservation in Nepal.
In Bangladesh, the cancellation of funding coincides with ongoing discussions about bringing Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet to the country. Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, recently held a video meeting with Musk to explore how Starlink could provide better internet access to underserved areas, particularly benefiting rural communities and vulnerable populations.
