Dr. Ravi Komaravolu Named To American Heart Association Journal Editorial Board

AUGUSTA, GA – Ravi Komaravolu, a research faculty scientist at the Immunology Center of Georgia at Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia, has been invited to serve on the Editorial Board of ‘Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology’, an American Heart Association journal.
Komaravolu, who previously served on the journal’s Early Career Editorial Board, will serve a two-year term on the full board.
He has been with the Immunology Center of Georgia, or IMMCG, since its founding in 2022. He is a senior member of the Hedrick Lab, led by Catherine “Lynn” Hedrick, PhD, Georgia Research Alliance Bradley Turner Eminent Scholar in Vascular and Cancer Immunology, co-director of IMMCG and a professor in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia.
Komaravolu joined IMMCG after spending three years conducting research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. He earned his PhD in Vascular Medicine from Heidelberg University in Germany.
He said serving on the board will give him an opportunity to keep up with new research shaping the field. He also credited Hedrick and Klaus Ley, co-director of IMMCG, for their leadership and commitment to scientific excellence.
